An update to WISA’s Individual Membership Fee

Thank you for being part of WISA. The experience, ideas and connections you bring help make this a community where women across seafood can contribute, learn and grow.

From 1 December 2026, WISA’s annual Individual Membership Fee will increase from $66 to $82.50 including GST ($75 plus GST). This is an increase of $16.50 a year.

When will it apply to you?

If you’re already a member, the new fee will apply at your next annual renewal on or after 1 December 2026. Your current membership will continue as usual, with no additional payment during that period.

New members joining from 1 December will pay the new fee.

Why is the fee increasing?

The fee has remained at $60 plus GST since at least 2019. Since then, the costs of supporting members, delivering communications and maintaining the systems that keep us connected have increased.

Membership fees provide reliable income for WISA’s everyday operations. Alongside partner and government funding, they help sustain our community and the support and opportunities available to members.

The Board approved this increase after considering WISA’s ongoing costs, long-term sustainability and the importance of keeping membership affordable.

Supporting your membership experience

Your membership connects you with people, knowledge and opportunities across seafood, including:

  • Connection and community through WISA Connect, online sessions and regional and national events.

  • Learning and opportunities, including webinars, resources and information about grants, bursaries and scholarships.

  • A voice in WISA’s future through sharing ideas, voting in Board elections and opportunities to nominate for Board roles.

Membership also supports WISA’s work to recognise women’s contributions and ensure their experiences are heard across the industry. Some events and programs have additional costs or eligibility requirements.

We’re using your Member Survey feedback to guide improvements during 2026–27, including helping members find opportunities relevant to their work, interests and circumstances. We’ll keep you updated as this progresses.

Keeping membership accessible

We know an increase affects people differently and WISA is committed to support people facing financial or structural barriers to membership.

If cost makes joining or renewing difficult, please explore the Community Membership Program or contact eo@womeninseafood.org.au to discuss the support available.
